About

The Nations Electoral Observatory is a tool for viewing elections to the Spanish Congress of Deputies across the whole Spanish State, read as a State of nations: Hego Euskal Herria, the Països Catalans, Galiza, Andalucía, Canarias and Aragón, and the rest of the State by autonomous community. From the whole State down to the census section, since 2011.

It is a data website: it shows results, seats and turnout, without opinion. All the data come from official public sources and are listed, with their download date, in the Sources section.

It is a sister project of the Hauteskunde Behatokia, the election observatory for Euskal Herria, and shares its map engine.

What is here

  • Map: the six general elections from 2011 to 2023, with a timeline; by nation, community, province, municipality and census section.
  • Layers: leading party in each area, close seats (how many votes decided the last seat in each province), turnout and blocs (the investiture bloc against the right-wing bloc, in votes and in the last seat of each province).
  • Seats: the whole Congress and the seats of each nation, community and constituency, with the change from the previous election.
  • Trend: how each area has voted since 2011, from the State down to the municipality.
  • Five languages: Spanish, Catalan, Galician, Basque and English. Place names are always in the local language.
